Global Warming, Anyone?

Posted by: admin on Friday, November 2nd, 2007

I know, I know.  There is no such thing as global warming.  It is all the figment of our imaginations.  It’s nothing more than the scare tactics of people like me who see a world gone awry.  It has nothing to do with the polar ice cap disappearing at an alarming rate or any  other such “the sky is falling” crap.

Maybe so.  But I know this - I am 64 years of age and have seen my share of weather changes and problems.  I’ve seen snow ass deep to a tall Indian in October, and have been snowed in on Thanksgiving. I have seen hurricanes devastate the south, and flooding and wildfires decimate the land in places like Greece, Texas, and points south.  Of course, I am assured it has nothing to do with global warming, no sir!

Today is November 2, 2007.  I have not had to turn on the heat this season yet.  And yesterday I picked tomatoes from my little roof top garden.  Granted, it is somewhat protected by being higher and surrounded on two sides by buildings.  But as I sit here and think about this, I realize that never in my lifetime have I ever picked tomatoes in November, and that tells me all I need to know…

Drive on,

Charlie~

Its true, the global climate is changing and we really need to start stepping up to the plate and doing what we need to do to reduce our carbon emissions.
Going green is not as hard and expensive and some peple think. Unfortunately this whole global warming thing has turned into a right vs. left political debate and all the while the planet is still heating up. We all need to work together and stop making excuses.
If you want to help and you want to learn, go to this site and take the action pledge and help to stop global warming.
