Many people laugh at the tree hugger that rides a bike 8 miles to a bus stop and then commutes to work, saying “what good does this little bit do?”  Not much, I suppose, unless you take into consideration that this one person is saving the planet the insult of having 15 pounds of potential carbon dioxide pollution from entering the atmosphere.  Doesn’t sound like much, does it?  Times that by the number of people commuting to work, though, and you see a whole different picture.

Environtmentalism troubles me.  I am going to be 64 in a few weeks, and a lot of people wonder why I care.  i care because of my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren to come, and all those suffering from pollution today.  Call me what you will - I have been blessed by spending 63 years on this beautiful blue planet, and want that legacy to be passed down to many more…
