I have long felt that golf courses are very detrimental to the environment. They waste a lot of water to keep things green, mow constantly to keep the grass short, thus polluting the environment, and dump a ton of herbicides and pesticides onto Mother Earth. The amount of land a typical golf course takes up would better be used as a place for a wildlife habitat or an eco-friendly area for people tired of the city and noise pollution. They are a threat to local wildlife, and the list goes on…
Obviously there is little I can do about it personally. Golf and big money go hand in hand, and I am betting that the CEO’s and execs who play golf would have a field day with me. I would hope, however, that people concerned about the environment would see a golf course for what it is.
But I digress. Standard Golf is a worldwide producer of golf equipment, including tee markers, greens cups, flags and ball washers. It is now making some of those products from recycled materials. That is certainly good news. They are producing these items from recycled plastic milk containers. They also used recycled tires to produce items.
Standard Golf gets a big tip ‘o the Allnut hat for their contribution to the environment. I am glad to see someone making a difference…
Drive on,
Charlie~
